"Cubic Tragedy" received the People's Choice Awards at SIGGRAPH 2005 Computer Animation Festival

"Cubic Tragedy" was selected for SIGGRAPH ELECTRONIC THEATER this year

SIGGRAPH動畫展今年一共入選56件作品，其中評審判定最佳之18件歸類於電子劇院（Electronic Theater)；其餘38件作品歸類於動畫劇院（Animation Theater）。

影展期間，動畫劇院作品於兩間小型放映室（各約容納兩、三百人）利用個人電腦配合單槍投影設備全天循環播放。凡註冊參加SIGGRAPH 研討會者（註冊費每人數百美金）均可憑證件入場免費觀賞。

電子劇院則於大型放映廳（可容納近萬人），以最先進的High-Definition（HD/1080i　and 1080p）數位電影院放映設備播放；五天研討會期間一共只播出五場；所有觀眾必須另外購票（每張50美元）。電子劇院為每年SIGGRAPH動畫展重頭戲，因此門票通常數月前己被搶購一空。

SIGGRAPH動畫展每年可能（但不一定）會由評審選出並頒發年度最佳影片獎（Best of Show，今年為一美國動畫），以及一或兩部評審獎（Jury Honor，今年分別為法國與波蘭作品）。另外，所有電子劇院與動畫劇院觀眾會分別投票選出他們心目中之最佳影片（People's　Choice Award），經過統計於影展最後一天公布。

本學校的「Cubic Tragedy」得到了電子劇院觀眾票選的最佳影片獎（SIGGRAPH 2005 People's Choice Award）。

Ming-Yuan Chuan from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology might have gotten the biggest laughs at SIGGRAPH. The audience howled repeatedly throughout “Cubic Tragedy,” in which a female character composed of angular planes struggled with her CG ‘makeup’ and came undone by her software’s ‘undo’ function. Talk about knowing your audience!

The other film that played with the creation aspect (though of still graphics) somewhat was Cubic Tragedy, though in a light, clever and pretty hilarious way.
